PRODUCT NEWS KAWASAKI SHORT BLOCK ENGINE ASSEMBLIES NOW AVAILABLE The Engines and Power Products Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., recently began making short block engine assemblies available for its FS and FX engine series units. This will allow lawncare professionals to easily extend the operational life of mowers that are key to business profitability. The new short block engine assemblies, carrying an MSRP ranging from $930 to $1,342, are currently available at authorized Kawasaki Engine dealers throughout the country. According to the company, gasket kits are included with the sale of every short block assembly, and assemblies are shipped with an attached oil filter. "This represents a huge step forward for professionals that depend on their Kawasakipowered equipment,"said Kawasaki Executive Director Rodger Howe "Pros count on their mowers for continued in-field performance, and we're providing genuine Kawasaki quality and reliability while reducing the time required for an engine rebuild." Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. Echo INC. Unveils new chain saws with tool-less chain tensioning The latest additions to Echo's chain saw lineup are the CS-370F and CS-400F. Both of these saws are based on the CS-370 and CS-400, but feature the new FasTension tool-less chain tensioning system. The FasTension system makes quick and easy chain tension adjustments or bar and chain replacements without a scrench or tightening tool. A rotating lever takes the place of locking nuts, and a tensioning wheel replaces an adjustment screw. Adjustments can be made anywhere in 4 simple steps. The CS-370F is equipped with a 16inch bar and chain, and the CS-400F comes with an 18-inch bar and chain. Other product features include a tool-less access, automotive-style air filter; a dualpost chain brake; an i-30 starting system for reduced starting effort; and an automatic, adjustable oiler. An aftermarket accessory is also available to retro-fit the FasTension tool-less chain tensioning system on any CS-370 or CS-400. As with all Echo chain saws, the CS370F and CS-400F are covered by a 1-year commercial warranty and 5-year consumer warranty. Echo Inc. PFERD INC.
