www.landscapeirrigation.com June 2014 Landscape and Irrigation 29 Equipment Loaders and Attachments Bandit stump grinding attachment for skid-steers Bandit Industries now offers the Stump Gun, a powerful stump grinding attachment designed for use with skid-steers. The Stump Gun's innovative-yet-simple design allows it to easily grind stumps of virtually any shape or size. It attaches to skid-steer loaders in seconds, and it's powered by the skid-steer's hydraulic system. The Stump Gun connects to any skid-steer with a quick-attach plate. Once attached, the operator simply connects the hydraulic lines and removes the Stump Gun from its stand cradle. Because it operates vertically, the Stump Gun can be used to grind stumps of virtually any size. Operators simply drive to the stump, raise the Stump Gun into position, and grind the stump from left to right. The vertical design helps to aid chip containment while also being very effective on odd-shaped stumps and root balls. Two grease points, 9 grinding teeth and an end-cap on the shaft are the extent of the maintenance. Bobcat launches Tier 4 600 frame-size loaders with non-DPF emissions solution Bobcat Company released its first Tier 4 600 frame-size loaders — the S630 and S650 skid-steer loaders and the T630 and T650 compact track loaders. These four 74-hp. loaders provide opera- tors with all of the same performance benefits of the previous interim Tier 4 models, and meet emissions standards without a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The Tier 4 Bobcat non-DPF solu- tion was achieved by designing an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine. The ULPC is accomplished through a specially designed engine combustion chamber that significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion. Therefore, Tier 4 emissions compli- ance can be achieved without using a DPF. In addition to eliminating the need for a DPF, the new engines used in 600 frame-size loaders will have increased torque. This increase in torque is produced over a wide range of engine rpm, allowing operators of all skill levels to better utilize the machines' maximum performance. Bradco Quik Pik multi-purpose grapple Paladin Attachments has partnered with Star Hill Solutions Inc. to introduce the new Bradco Quik Pik multi-purpose grapple for skid-steers. This multi-purpose grapple tool is versatile enough to manage brush, logs, hay bales, rocks and pipe or culverts, as well as standard pallet jobs. The Bradco Quik Pik base unit has a patented dual hydraulic boom and curved tines allowing for safe handling of irregular-shaped objects. The base unit is equipped with a removable landscape shoe that provides a platform to stabilize loads against the face plate. Combine the base unit with the optional fork tines and/or brush rake and the Bradco Quik Pik easily becomes an all-in-one multi- purpose attachment. The grapple has a reach of 50.55 inches with a 62.38-inch opening dimen- sion, and the base unit weighs approximately 700 pounds. Gehl next generation of RT Series track loaders Gehl introduced the next generation of RT Series track loaders — the RT175 GEN:2 and RT210 GEN:2, which are powered by Tier IV-certified Yanmar diesel engines. Offering many new fea- tures, as well as the IdealTrax automatic track tensioning system, these machines efficiently transfer horsepower into tractive effort for productive performance. Horsepower management monitors and adjusts the hydrostatic drive pump to produce ideal tractive effort. Hydraulic flow up to 35.9 gpm provides excellent hydraulic performance. The next generation RT Series track load- ers also feature increased operator comfort with added vertical clearance at the lap bars; fully- customizable digital in-cab display with machine information in real time; straight tracking feature, now standard, that allows operator to make adjustments to machine tracking from within the cab; tilt-out foot pod for best-in-class foot well cleanout; and steel hydraulic lines for a cleaner design and elimination of hose wear and tear.
