Located next to the Expo Welcome Center was the Groundwater TV stage where the taping of live interviews with various groundwater industry personnel took place, including award winners. Alex Bandar, Ph.D., founder and CEO of the Columbus Idea Foundry, presented the H2O Talk "Improving the World—One Idea at a Time," a look into the world of the Maker Movement. Bandar told attendees one can't have progress without invention. The groundwater industry continues to progress as more than 94 new prod- ucts were on display at the Expo. First-time exhibitor HydroCare Water Treatment in Oceanside, New York, displayed its Iron 300X Well Water System. "It's been a really good show," says Eytan Konigsberg, vice president of HQ Hometek, which distributes HydroCare products. "The product has a low startup cost and deals with a lot of major issues like iron and manganese. It's easy in- stallation. It's a product drillers look to offer their customers." The Water Systems Council pre- sented two workshops and had an ex- hibit booth featuring information about the Water Supply Cost Savings Act. The act is the industry's first piece of nation- al legislation aimed at promoting the use of water wells as an alternative to tradi- tional long-pipe, centralized drinking water systems. An informal gathering of task group members who had worked on the ANSI/NGWA Standard took place at the Expo. The get-together brought together volunteers who worked on the ANSI/NGWA-01-14 Water Well Construction Standard. Now to get home and put into prac- tice the things I learned to provide better service to our customers!" —Alan G Eades, CWD/PI, CVCLD, partner at Eades Drilling & Pump Service in Hobbs, New Mexico "We're very fortunate we have lots of good, base customers who attend this show. We also had good foot traffic which means new contacts, and you're always looking for new contacts as well as new business. But for us, it's being here for our customers and supporting the Association." —Todd Courbot, sales for Geoprobe Systems in Salina, Kansas "As I walked the floor and spoke to the exhibitors, I was impressed by their obvious pleasure with the convention center and the large crowds. Listening to all of the positive comments from convention attendees leads me to be- lieve they were pleased with the wide range of topics our speakers provided and the quality of their presentations." —Richard Thron, MGWC, incoming NGWA president "I attended the Expo and had the opportunity to give a presentation on the GF6 Seismoelectric technology as well as exhibit. The show was a real success for us, even better than last year and it seemed to be more balanced of scien- tist and drilling professionals. We appreciated the opportunity and look for- ward to next year." —Ervin Kraemer, AquaLocate in Seattle, Washington "I came here looking for water quality information from In-Situ. We will be utilizing several of the products they offer which they had displayed at the Expo. There was a good variety of vendors. Geoprobe Systems was also a huge help in understanding some of its newer technology. I also learned how to collect soil samples and cores from Geoprobe at the booth, which was awesome." —Jonathan Sarich, CEM, environmental scientist for Stanley Consultants Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada Several of the professional development offerings at the Expo were packed and had attendees standing to listen to the presenters. Solinst Canada Ltd. was honored with an NGWA 2014 Distinguished Partner Award.
