Festivals
A sneak peak
There's a taste of
summer's great
lakefront ethnic
festivals this month. St.
Patrick's Day brings to
mind Milwaukee Irish
Fest (Aug. 13-16), while
the Winter Pow Wow
held by Indian Summer
Festival brings that
fest's excitement to
Wisconsin State Fair
Park, March 14-15.
The pow wow
includes a marketplace,
traditional foods and
a Sunday prayer
ceremony. And
everyone is invited
to join in when the
emcee announces an
"Intertribal Dance."
Milwaukee Irish Fest
sponsors year-round
Irish cultural events
as well as the festival
at the Summerfest
grounds (irishfest.
com). For information
on the Pow Wow
and Indian Summer
Festival Sept. 11-13 at the
Summerfest grounds,
visit indiansummer.org.
