EQUIPMENT FOCUS ALTEC INTRODUCES TWO FEATURES ON POPULAR ARBORIST AERIAL Altec's LR7 aerial device series, particularly popular among tree care and forestry compa- nies, now comes with the option of platform rotation, including hydraulic platform tilt at the upper controls and an optional 50-pound platform capacity increase. The 90-degree rota- tion of the platform provides enhanced benefits to the operator of the unit including greater accessibility to the work area. It also saves time by reducing the need to reposition the truck to complete jobs. Hydraulic tilt at the upper con- trols provides the operator five degrees of extra trim if needed and easier cleaning and removal of water from the platform. Both the hydraulic rotation and tilt controls can be found in a con- venient location next to other unit controls at the control station. Also available to the LR7 is the option to increase platform capacity from 400 to 450 pounds. The increased capacity allows for a heavier platform liner, as well as more room for additional tools and supplies in the platform. JLG T350 TOWABLE BOOM LIFT The JLG T350 towable boom lift has a 35-foot platform height, an overall width of 4 feet 9 inches, and platform capacity of 500 pounds. The T350 allows workers to tackle the same jobs as the other JLG electric boom lifts, with an easier option for transportation. With the standard combination hitch, industry-leading towing speed and hydraulic auto-leveling outrig- gers, the T350 allows operators to get right to work. The T350 is ideal for a variety of jobs including residential maintenance, construction, pressure washing, tree trimming, exterior paint- ing and maintenance tasks. In addition, it has standard air and water lines to the platform, and an accessory-mounting tray to accommodate a generator, air compressor or pressure washer. TEREX XT PRO TREE TRIMMER SERIES The completely redesigned Terex XT Pro Series Tree Trimmer trucks are designed to meet the unique jobsite needs of tree care professionals. The XT Pro Series tree trim- mers boast a host of new features, including a longitudinal hydraulic lift option to provide up to 75 feet of working height, upper boom articulation of 250 degrees and 125 degrees of lower boom articulation. All three models in the new XT Series Pro tree trimmers share com- mon user-friendly design elements, including round pedestals for easier access to bearing bolts; a platform capacity of up to 400 pounds to accommodate one person plus tools; and an elbow cylinder that is fully retracted when stored, decreasing exposure to the elements. The compact longitudinal lift on these models is lighter and shorter than its predecessors, and the new design accommodates an 11-foot chipbox so there is no reduction in chip stor- age space. The XT Pro tree trimmer's control system senses what hydraulic flow is needed to move the boom to a new position without having to disengage the tool circuit. This new control system is designed to save the opera- tor both time and effort throughout the course of the working day.
