x Barenjager Honey Liqueur, from Sidney Frank Importing, just introduced an updated package. The bottle is now taller, with a reworked brand logo showing a more realistic drawing of the bear and hunter. There is also a combination of glass emboss- ing and a redesigned paper label as well as a new red beehive seal added to the neck. The 70 proof Barenjager has a suggested retail price of $27.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x Cupcake Vineyards has debuted a new wine: 2009 Cupcake Vineyards Red Velvet, a blend of Zinfandel (47%), Merlot (29%), Cabernet Sauvignon (19%) and Petite Sirah (3%), from a variety of California viticultural areas. The wine features aromas of blackberries and red fruit, which follow through with additional flavors of choco- late and mocha. Owned by The Wine Group, Cupcake Vineyards' Red Velvet is available nationally at a suggested retail price of $13.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x Canadian Club 6 Year Old has produced 100,000 bottles featuring "Boardwalk Empire" — branded neckers, which include "Boardwalk Empire" — logoed flasks. The bottles will be available nationwide as long as supplies last. x The New Amsterdam Spirits Company (of E&J Gallo) made a splash with the introduction of New Amsterdam Gin a few years ago. The brand has now introduced a line exten- sion, New Amsterdam Vodka, an 80 proof spirit, which is dis- tilled five times and filtered three times, the company says. The tattooed lion turns from silver to blue as the bottle is chilled in a freezer or on ice. x Heaven Hill Distilleries has released its fifth annual edition of the Parker Heritage Collection American Whiskey Series with its 10 Year Old Cognac Finished Bourbon, which is the first wood-finished bourbon produced by Heaven Hill. The new expression is bottled at 100 proof and is not chill-filtered prior to bottling. It will be available nationally (in limited quantities) at a suggested retail price of $80 for a 750 ml bottle. Heaven Hill also introduced another flavored vodka to its Burnett's portfolio of vodkas, with Burnett's Hot Cinnamon, which is the 25th flavor in the line. The Hot Cinnamon launch is being supported by a variety of in-store POS materials as well as sales education materials. It is 70 proof with a suggested retail price of $9.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
