He's even gone after the Wine Blog Awards, of which Washam has won three, calling the awards "Poodles," emphasis on Poo. The blog is not for the pious or the prissy. Indeed, some take offense to HoseMaster's writing, yet it's qualified by years in the business, keen observation and a willingness to unearth truth in an industry that would prefer to talk about terroir. or six years, Ron Washam has pushed the wine industry on its heels with his blog, HoseMaster of Wine (www.hosemasterofwine.blogspot.com). With sometimes crude analogies and occasional drop- pings of f-bombs, Washam cleverly uses satire to expose the underbelly of the wine business. It's often hilarious stuff, as long as you're not the one being lampooned. Washam, 62, takes no prisoners in skewering all that is silly, stupid, frustrating and pretentious about wine, and his favorite targets are other bloggers and writers. No one is immune. Not Robert M.
