Murphy Ballroom, Georgia World Congress Center Presented by Earvin "Magic" Johnson To build a successful rental business, you need to use your strengths to your advantage. That's something keynote speaker Earvin "Magic" Johnson understands. When his 13-year NBA career ended, his business career began – and his legacy off the court has been just as impressive. Since leaving basketball for the boardroom, Johnson has successfully parlayed his skills and tenacity into business success as chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE). In the last three decades, Johnson has developed MJE into multiple business entities and partnerships. Some of his past ventures include an unprecedented franchising partnership with Starbucks for 125 stores. He currently is co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and has controlling interests in EquiTrust, a $14 billion financial services company, and SodexoMAGIC, a food service and facilities management company. Johnson also is committed to transforming urban communities through his work as chairman and founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF). He continues to work with major corporations to bring jobs, products and services to underserved communities. His story is a combination of entrepreneurial spirit and human spirit that will inspire you to make a difference in the lives of others. In addition to Johnson's message, the keynote session will include the induction ceremony for the Rental Hall of Fame. ARA will recognize the passing of the gavel from president Terry Turner, CERP, to the incoming president Roger Vajgrt. ARA leadership also will discuss the association's industry outlook.
