Old truck, fresh start
Luis Reyes
uses his 1998
Peterbilt
379 to haul
pipe from
Oklahoma
to Texas,
Louisiana and
New Mexico,
as well as
45-foot
contain-
ers around
Houston. The
truck is pow-
ered by a 550-horsepower Caterpillar 3406E and an
18-speed Eaton transmission. It has 1.5 million miles on
it, but Reyes recently rebuilt the engine. He's also added
a 20-inch box end bumper, a 7-inch DynaFlex straight
pipe and a 14-inch sun visor.
