FineScanner FineScanner allows users to send docu- ments in 12 different file types, including Microsoft Word and Excel. This can be useful if the original file format needs to be preserved. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store, but it's not avail- able for Android or Windows users. Extra features are available as in-app purchases. For $2, users can disable advertisements, and $5 will unlock the multilanguage OCR search engine. Much like Genius Scan, FineScanner allows saving files to other storage applications. Mobile Doc Scanner Mobile Doc Scanner is available only for Android devices. The basic version is free, while the $1 version eliminates ads and default watermarks. The app has editing and enhance- ment options that clean text, brighten shadows and fix contrast or color issues. A batch mode allows users to scan multiple pages and then edit and send as a batch. Scanner Pro Scanner Pro, an iOS-exclusive app, costs $2.99 and has a Scan Radar feature that allows users to convert images from the iPhone photo library into PDFs. Phone pictures of documents can be accessed easily for scanning later. Users also are able to lock the app with a password or fingerprint, which is ideal for sensitive documents.
