Transportation of Wauseon, Ohio. The truck has a 475-horse- power Caterpillar engine with an 18-speed transmission and 3:55 rear axles. Everything on the truck is original, and it has more than 1.1 million miles on it. High performance Owner-operator Glendon Gooch runs "Old Blue," a 1996 Peterbilt 379, as Gooch Trucking. He hauls mostly hazmat, but also flatbed, step deck, van, lowboy and powder tanker freight, primarily in the Southeast. The truck sits on a 300-inch wheelbase and originally had a 500-horse- power Caterpillar C15, an Eaton Fuller 18-speed transmission and 3:55 rear axles. After years on the road, Gooch upgraded Old Blue's peak horsepower to an esti- mated 1,000-plus range and 4,000 lb.-ft. of torque with high-performance heads, injectors and a turbocharg- er. Inside are hardwood floors, chrome accents on the dash and flame-embroi- dered leather.
