Equipment Focus BACKHOES AND EXCAVATORS Bobcat's E26 compact excavator The newest compact excavator in Bobcat Company's lineup, the E26, has an operating weight of 5,690 pounds and an overall width of 59 inches. The excavator is powered by a 27-hp. diesel engine that is Interim Tier 4 compliant. The unit's minimal 0.8 inches of tail overhang allows the machine to fit in tight surroundings, and it leaves a lighter footprint than the 325 and 425 models it replaces. Ideal for landscapers and municipal projects, this excavator is a complement to larger machines when space is constricted, as well as perfectly capable of completing entire jobs on its own. Bradco 485 backhoe The Bradco 485 backhoe by Paladin Construction Group increases utilization of skid-steer loaders and tractors. At 925 pounds without a bucket, its compact size allows operators to easily move the unit around the job site, and provides a maximum digging depth of 8 feet 5 inches. The full 180-degree dual-cylinder swing rotation provides equal power in both directions. A 10-foot-7-inch horizontal reach from the swing post efficiently places dirt away from the digging area and minimizes the need to move the machine. The Bradco 485 Backhoe is compatible with bucket sizes from 10 inches up to 24 inches and heaped capacities that range from .92 cubic feet up to 3.1 cubic feet. The Bradco 485 backhoe's SAE float detent in the boom circuit and circuit relief valve provide added protection and safety — allowing the operator to smoothly move from position to position without error. Kubota KX057-4 Kubota's KX057-4 five-ton conventional tail swing compact excavator is designed to provide operators with en- hanced performance and increased stability in open areas. The KX057-4 offers an optional hydraulic float angle blade with 25-degree pivot angle, as well as auto-downshift travel motors for increased productivity. The machine's conventional tail swing adds stability and lift capacity. With a 47.6-gross-horsepower direct-injection Kubota diesel engine, the KX057-4 offers roomy operator comfort with wide doors, ample legroom and a large operator's space. Other features include easy-to-reach controls, extensive safety attributes, and a new digital display panel. New Case CX470C excavator Case Construction Equipment launched its CX470C full-sized excavator. The machine is the newest in the Case C Series excavator line that features increased fuel efficiency, productivity and improved serviceability and operator comfort, while achieving Tier 4 Interim certification. The new Case CX470C excavator replaces the company's CX470B model. It features Tier 4 Interim-certified cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) technology that burns cleaner while delivering superior horsepower. The CX470C, rated at 362 net hp., is available in Long Undercarriage (LC), Retractable Undercarriage (RTC) and Mass Excavator (MEX) models, with operating weights ranging from 105,300 to 108,600 pounds. The CX470C models are roughly 1,100 pounds heavier than the previous model for im- proved capacity. John Deere K-Series backhoe/tractor loaders John Deere introduced its K-Series backhoe loaders, 8 productive and efficient models (310K EP, 310K, 310SK, 310SK TC, 315SK, 410K, 410K TC, 710K) that build on the success of the popular J-Series. Two economical tractor loader models (210K EP, 210K) round out the K-Series and provide additional jobsite versatility. The new K-Series models deliver productivity, uptime and lower daily operating costs that operators expect from John Deere equip- ment. Powered by a certified IT4/ Stage III B John Deere PowerTech engine, the K-Series comes equipped with a 5- speed transmission that allows top speeds of 25 mph when roading. An optional AutoShift transmission enables smooth shifting and improves operator comfort by reducing the number of times the Transmission Control Lever (TCL) needs to be actuated during operation. A single loader lever with integrated electro-hydraulic (EH) auxiliary loader control eliminates the need for a second lever when using a multi-purpose bucket. Terex TC75 compact crawler excavator The zero-tail swing, 72-hp. Terex TC75 compact crawler excavator is built for consistent, reliable jobsite perform- ance. It is able to handle 3.2- to 13.2-cubic-foot bucket capacities, and it is ideal for using a hydraulic hammer. The 92-inch-wide dozer blade is independently controlled from the track drive for uninterrupted operation. And with a simple flip of a switch, operators can change from ISO to SAE controls to suit personal preference. This unit weighs 17,420 pounds and achieves a maximum dig depth of 14 feet 7 inches and maximum reach of 24 feet 5 inches.
