H ave you ever looked at one of those calendars where every day is marked with a holiday, you know, something special to celebrate? Well I recently took a look at March – crazy stuff like "National Pig Day," "Peanut Butter Lover's Day" – well maybe not that crazy, all over that one, "Dentist Day," really? How about this one, "National Clam on a Half Shell Day?" en there's "Everything you do is right Day" – kind of nice. Love this one, "Panic Day" – that sounds like a Monday aer vacation. What do you love about March? Come on, there has to be something? Well, if you're a sports enthusiast, March Madness comes to mind immediately or if you are the outdoorsy type, setting the clocks forward knowing that spring is just around the corner definitely gets you to that happy place. It's also the time of year when folks celebrate St. Patrick's Day with all the trimmings and Easter can be celebrated in March, as it was this year. e Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) celebrated their 78th Annual Convention early in March at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort – yes, I forced myself to go to Vegas! e Mid-America Trucking Show otherwise known as MATS is also held in March each year at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, and is considered to be the largest annual heavy-duty trucking industry event in the world. Which brings me to another point, this particular event marks a very special time of year for me — it's when I joined the Truckstop.com team — but let me back up, my relationship with Truckstop.com did not begin there. I actually like to tell the story this way … people frequently ask, "How long have you been with Truckstop?" My answer, 11 years — 10 as a happy customer and one as Director of Industry Relations. So it's pretty fair to say we all know each other very well. In this new role, however, my "marching orders" are to bring greater awareness to our new logo and branding and all the offerings under one Truckstop.com hood. MATS was my first introduction to the team as I know them today — and what an amazing group they are. It has truly been a journey of challenge and reward. So I'm off to MATS, an entire year later — hard to believe and I have to say, that I can't wait. For sure, I will be making some new friends, always my ultimate goal — but it will be just wonderful catching up with the old ones. So, as the Internet Truckstop Group celebrates 20 years in the industry with the promise of so much more to come, I can also say I'm celebrating too.
