Each Lucienne label bears such a golden crown. The affordable luxury Hahn SLH tier consistently achieves high scores for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It recently added the 2013 SLH Gabrielle Pinot Noir to the lineup. Made from the Doctor's, Lone Oak and Smith vineyards, this big wine was created from barrels selected by the Hahn family and exhibits an intense, oak-dominant, chocolate mint and root beer profile, favored by the Hahn's son, Philip. Baldini says the Hahn SLH tier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been tremendously successful: Everything about the wines, from the labels, which now bear a small gold rooster, to the flavors, reinforc- es that irreplaceable sense of origin. The legendary Smith & Hook brand (50,000 cases) lives on with three entries, including a Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, a West Side Paso Cabernet Sau- vignon and a proprietary red blend.
