Blumaq – A Sure Bet B lumaq was founded in Spain in 1992 as a company dedicated to selling spare parts for CATERPILLAR equip- ment. Th ere was a great need to create a viable alternative to the OEM brands for machinery in the spare parts and maintenance sector. Since its beginning, Blumaq Brand has always been identi- fi ed as a quality product, and its salespeople have always been known for their technical expertise. Our ongoing investment in quality has enabled us to have the capacity for developing a product superior to our competition. Our product line is not limited to machines that are obso- lete. Th e manufacturing agreements that we have with more than 800 OEM suppliers allow us to supply fl eets of modern machinery. Th is has led to our success in very demanding markets, such as the mining sector. Another advantage that Blumaq has is fast development. We internally control our chain of production which allows us, in a short period of time, to supply parts that are not on the market. Our service capability has continued to increase. We now have almost 90 percent for some models of VOLVO machines, which is comparable to the 95 percent that we off er for CATERPILLAR machines. During the past 20 years, Blumaq's commercial network has also grown. Today, we have 12 branches in Spain and have established our presence in seven other countries: USA (Miami and Knoxville), Portugal, France, Turkey, Chile and 18 IDA UNIVERSAL September-October 2012 China. In addition, we have also acquired the Italian company Campadelli & Trentini S.R.L. (manufacturer of chassis compo- nents). In 2000, Blumaq opened its fi rst branch in Miami and in 2009, the branch in Knoxville, Tennessee. Blumaq Brand became known in the American market by its sales of VOLVO spare parts.
