MIAMI !!! EDITOR'S NOTES Nancy Estes, MBA, CAE Executive Director/Editor T he IDA offi ce is fever- ishly rushing to get all the registrations processed, the supplies ready and the publica- tions completed. Historically, Miami has always been a great location for the IDA convention, with record atten- dance. Trusting that this year will be the same, let me urge you to get those registrations and hotel arrangements made as quickly as possible. DEADLINES to avoid rate increases are printed on the fl yer attached to this magazine. IDA was fortunate to get a hotel room rate at less than half the normal rate, so do not miss this opportunity to stay in one of the most modern and elite hotels in North America for $179 per night. Please make your hotel arrangements on the IDA website (www.idaparts.org) to assure that you get the IDA discounted room rates. Convention Registration Increases September 10, 2012 Hotel Room Rates Increase September 17, 2012 Let me take this opportunity to say thank you in advance to some special member companies that are generously donating their eff orts to make the Miami conven- tion a memorable event! First of all, on Tuesday, October 2. 2012, PATRIOT ENGINEERING is graciously picking up attendees at the hotel for a tour of their new facility and a luncheon reception at the Doral Country Club. For questions or to RSVP before September 24, contact Patriot Engineering at: patriotgrandopening@patrioten- gineering.com. BLUMAQ is also providing transportation from the hotel to a great tour of their new facility, where refreshments will be wait- ing for all convention attendees, on Th ursday, October 4, begin- ning at 2 p.m. Please contact the folks at Blumaq to RSVP before September 28 at: susana.masip@ blumaq.es. COSTEX is holding a won- derful reception at the Bongo Cuban Café the evening of Th urs- day, October 4, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Please contact the offi ce at COSTEX to RSVP before Septem- ber 28 at: marketing@costex.com. Th ere is already a large response to the IDA Golf Tour- nament. Th is activity has more participants every year. IDA is fortunate to have BLACK CAT BLADES, specifi cally Terry McKay, supplying the extra man- power to facilitate the success of this activity. As far as I know, IDA has never held a Deep Sea Fishing Tournament before. I did not realize there are so many fi sh- ermen in our group. I' d like to extend another note of gratitude to COSTEX for their work in coordinating the Tournament and donating the refreshments during the event. Registration is on the IDA website: www.idaparts.org. Lastly, what comfort it is to have the many sponsors for the convention and the golf tournament. You are needed and appreciated! Th e more the merrier! And the more potential for sales! Each of you is urged to bring guests with you. Bring the potential members you work with throughout the year. Th is year, the Board granted approval for non-members to be able to have a booth. So if you know Import- ers/Exporters or other companies that would profi t by meeting the IDA members and that have good services the member companies could use, please have them call the IDA offi ce so we can get them registered for the trade show. Remember, the IDA offi ce staff is here to help you have a successful event. Call us and we will be happy to assist you. All the best to you and yours!
