BRAND SPOTLIGHT SPIRIT BUZZ AT THE CHERRY n order to build awareness of its new limited edition Grand Marnier Cherry launching this month, the House of Marnier- Lapostolle created a digital hub called "The Cherry. I " Located at C www.grandmarniercherry.com, the site is a virtual VIP club that will eventually merge with advertising and content partners like Maxim to drive traffic. The site consists of a num- ber of sections, each offering a unique digital experience, including Knot or Not (an inter- active guessing game), Diction- cherry (comedic content cen- tered around cherry terminology and nightlife lingo) and Round of Drinks (cocktail recipes). When the limited edition prod- uct launches, it will be available for a suggested retail price of $41.99 for a 750 ml bottle. Campari Announces Calendar Choice ampari announced that Penelop Cruz, Academy Award-winning actress, will be the star of the 2013 Campari Calendar, which will be photographed by fashion photographer Kristian Schuller. Cruz is the 14th woman to star in the calendar, which has in the past featured Selma Hayek, Eva Mendes and Milla Jovovich. The theme for the 2013 calendar and the final images that will adorn its pages will be revealed in a fall 2012 red carpet event held in Milan. M Royal Salute Scotch Whisky is one of the world's leading sponsors of interna- tional polo, with events that stretch from the U.S. to Spain, India, China, Brazil, South Korea and Australia. As part of the Royal Salute team, England's Prince Harry took part in a victorious match, winning the Kent & Curwin Cup on July 25. The event raised funds for the Tusk Trust and Sentebale charities, whose patrons are The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Absolut Hosts Welcome Reception at 10th Anniversary of Tales At the end of July, the weeklong Tales of the Cocktail event celebrat- ing the universe of spirits and spirits concoctions of all types, marked its 10th anniversary in New Orleans, and Absolut Vodka was there to host the festival's "Welcome Reception." Before the U.S. Open, Crowning the Moet & Chandon Tennis Cup Champion ore than 30 of New York's hospitality, wine and spirit professionals turned out at the home of the U.S. Open in Queens, NY, to compete in the inaugural Moet & Chandon Tennis Cup. Held a few weeks before the U.S. Open, on the same court the finalists in the Grand Slam compete, the event featured a final match between The Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel and Hilton Hotels Worldwide. Moet is the official Champagne of the U.S. Open tour- nament, which allowed key on-premise accounts for the brand to compete in such a match. The opening round- robin matches featured sommeliers, beverage directors and hospitality managers from around New York, who were cheered on by friends and colleagues.
