Call Us On It E veryone makes mistakes, the cliché goes. To this, add: It's important to be honest and learn from them. In regard to our February issue, we re- ceived two e-mails concerning errors and omissions. The fi rst came from Peter Gerstenberger, senior advisor for safety, compliance and standards for the Tree Care Industry Association, who authored "Out on a Limb?" regarding tree work safety. "I was dismayed," he wrote, "to see that the subject in the photo (shown lower right) was non-compliant with OSHA and ANSI standards. Specifi cally, a hard hat is required for all tree care operations; and hearing protection is required when the worker is subjected to harmful levels of noise for a prolonged period. "In a way, these omissions help underscore the point I am trying to make in the article; that those who are uninitiated to tree work often don't understand its inherent hazards and how to con- trol them." The second e-mail came from Randy Buckley, who wrote, "On page 24, under 'All-Star Orna- mental Grasses,' the article listed Pampas Grass as one of the choices.
