Kudos & Changes enny Agee-Aldridge came on board as manag- ing editor of TLC just a few weeks shy of my start time two years ago. With minimal help, she produced an entire issue of the magazine and, subsequently, never missed a beat. Jenny has many talents but excels as a feature writer in addition to being a great editor. She's also been a vital partner for our creative team. In fact, at the recent annual publishing compe- tition sponsored by TOCA (Turf and Ornamental Communicators Organization), Jenny won fi rst prize for her vertical gardens article from our May 2011 issue. I'm both sad and happy to say Jenny is leav- ing us for other opportunities. You'll still see her Lauren has an eagle eye for editing and the byline in the magazine, but she's also making plans for perhaps teaching at a college level, as well as spending more time with her family. Stepping nimbly into her shoes as managing editor, Lauren Heartsill Dowdle moves up from associate editor. Lauren will take over the tasks of making the train run on time around here. But she also has an eagle eye for editing and the chops for writing and creating digital content. In fact, she won a TOCA award of merit for her March 2011 feature on California landscape designer Scott Cohen. Not bad, as it was her fi rst feature assignment for TLC. We also received an award of merit for our chops for writing and creating digital content. "How To" series, covering topics from planting in clay soil to creating an as-built irrigation drawing. While we appreciate the recognition, we contin- ue to push to lead the competition and bring you great stories and service, not only in the magazine but also with our digital offerings. Stay tuned: In the coming weeks, we'll launch a new and totally revamped website that takes advantage of all the bells and whistles the medium has to offer, including great slideshows and videos. I'm excited about the potential for TLC and the idea that old editor dogs like me can still learn new tricks in the multi-platform content world. Come join us for the experience! Billy R.
