by Lauren Heartsill Dowdle This year's GIE+EXPO (Green Industry & Equipment Expo) and Hardscape North America (HNA) shows in Louisville, Kentucky, will be jam-packed with seminars, new products and equipment dem- onstrations in a new, shorter format. Dealers, retailers and distributors will have the chance to meet one-on-one with exhibitors on the fi rst day of the show, Wednesday, Oct. 24. The tradeshow will be open to all attendees on Oct. 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but unlike in years past, there will not be events on that Saturday. There's expected to be 18,000 participants including exhibitors, dealers, retailers, manufacturers' representatives, rental shops and distributors of lawn, garden and outdoor products and equipment. Attendees can enjoy 750 exhibits of lawn and garden, landscape maintenance, outdoor leisure, hardscape and outdoor power equipment products throughout 500,000 square feet, as well as in the 642,000-net-square-feet Outdoor Demonstration Area. But the fun and networking opportunities won't end at 5 p.m. each day. There will be free concerts at 4th Street Live! on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights featuring Kansas, the Eli Young Band and Candy Coburn. GIE+EXPO is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) and Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS). HNA is produced by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and endorsed by the Brick Industry Association and the National Concrete Masonry Association. It will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center. For more information or to register, visit gie-expo.com or hardscapena.com. October 2012 / TOTAL LANDSCAPE CARE 69 SPONSORED INFORMATION SECTION
