ROLLOUTS Designed with customer input Screen options The new 655K crawler loader from John Deere was designed using customer input. It features a John Deere PowerTech 6.8-liter IT4 diesel engine that boasts 145 horsepower at 1,800 rpm. The hydrostatic transmission provides customers infinite speed control, power management, live power turns, counter rotation while staying in gear, and dynamic braking. The transmission controls allow operators to pick between V-pattern or joystick options. The Quad-Cool system isolates coolers from engine heat for increased durability. A standard, hydraulic-driven, variable-speed suction fan runs only when needed. Onboard diagnostics include a monitor that provides real-time values for every temperature, pressure, and speed sensor. Deere & Co. | www.johndeere.com Deister announced two new options for use on mine-duty screens — the exciter vibrating mechanism and the isolation base. The exciter is designed for use with large, linear-stroke screens and feeders. Innovative seal, shaft, and bearing designs are said to make the unit rugged and easy to maintain. The exciter mechanism can be driven by V-belts or a directdrive flexible shaft. The isolation base incorporates a secondary set of support springs, as well as shock absorbers, to isolate the forces generated by the vibrating screen frame from the stationary structure and reduce the size and complexity of the support structure around the vibrating screen. Deister Machine Co. | www.deistermachine.com Down-thehole efficiency Sandvik says its new RH 460 series DTH hammers are designed to focus on reliability and endurance to ensure peak performance at all times. The company says the new design concept provides higher impact energy and drill performance while maximizing productivity in almost all ground conditions. Features include reduced fuel costs and improved resistance against galling, which promise to prolong hammer life and increase drilling penetration rates. The new series currently offers 4-, 5-, and 6-inch hammers. All versions are designed to use bits with generic shank types.
