TOP OF THE NEWS second quarter. Atlas also acquired portable Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) units to transfer the crude onto rail cars to be distributed to the refineries in the Gulf Coast and other markets served by rail. Currently, Atlas has three transloading facilities in the Gulf Coast area in Odessa, Texas, La Feria, Texas, and Albuquerque, NM. The sites handle crude and biofuel but some sites will have the potential to handle other related commodities. NEW PRODUCTS OPW Engineered Systems "Lo-Temp" Seal Kit for 1004D3/1004D4 API BottomLoading Couplers OPW Engineered Systems, a leading manufacturer of systems for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of hazardous materials and a division of OPW Fluid Transfer Group, is pleased to announce that the 1004D3 and 1004D4 models of its API Bottom-Loading Couplers are now available with a special "lo-temp" sealing material that has been designed to retain its sealing capabilities at extreme temperatures (Seal Material rated as low as -55°F/-48°C). The seal material is also compatible with all gasoline, diesel and ethanol formulations and blends. As temperatures drop, in many cases so does the sealing ability of many API Bottom-Loading Couplers. In the past, the only solution to leaking bottom-loading couplers in low-temperature environments was a very frustrating one 10 March 2013 – simply wait for the temperatures to rise. However, OPW Engineered Systems has put an end to this discouraging waiting game, specifically engineering its new lotemp seals with a sub-zero leak protection that helps eliminate the concerns associated with cold-weather leaks. OPW Engineered Systems' 1004D3 and 1004D4 Couplers provide users with a best-in-class performance by combining advanced engineering and ergonomic designs with the sub-zero weather protection of the lo-temp seal kit. Designed specifically to provide a faster connection during transfers and to significantly reduce liquid loss at disconnect, the 1004D3 and 1004D4 are built to mate with all 4-inch bottom-loading adaptors. SKINZZ protective shields are available for all display screens and membrane keypads for popular equipment from manufactures like Gilbarco®, VeriFone®, Wayne® and other high-impact areas of retail fueling facilities. SKINZZ can also be customized to meet a variety of other equipment applications. CAF Environmental Solutions Maple Valley, Wash www.mycaf.com Easy reconnection after gas station drive-aways with Husky's New MagBreak® Husky Corporation, a leader in developing innovative American-made fuel nozzles, safe-t-breaks, and accessories, releases a breakthrough magnetic fueling breakaway device. The patent-pending MagBreak® solves a common industry problem by making it very easy to reconnect fuel hoses that separate following a customer drive-away. Customers drive away with the nozzle still in the car fairly often. That is why hoses are designed to break in two sections when adequate pull force is applied, while dual check valves keep the fuel from leaking and creating a hazard. After a drive away occurs, and if there's no damage to the dispenser, the fuel marketer wants to reattach the breakaway device and get back in operation as quickly as possible. MagBreak® makes the process easier and faster than ever before. Husky Corporation engineers designed a patent-pending magnetic mechanism that essentially pulls the breakaway halves back together without effort. A twist-tolock feature indicates when the assembly is locked and reconnected.
