Maruyama's H23DR hedge trimmer Maruyama's new H23DR double-sided professional hedge trimmer boasts advanced forward exhaust technology, which prevents browning that occurs with downward exhaust models. The H23DR weighs approximately 1 pound lighter than comparable 22.5-cc double-sided hedge trimmers, and is very easy to maneuver with its 5-position handle. Other features of the H23DR include a clean, low-emission, 2-cycle CER Maruyama engine with an extreme-duty professional gearbox; a chrome-moly crankshaft; thick, chromeplated aluminum cylinders; and a dual-ring piston. Rugged, chrome-steel, dual-reciprocating, 24-inch-long blades are precision-ground with sharp, polished edges on all 3 sides. The H23DR is backed by Maruyama's IRON 5-year commercial warranty and a 5-day buy-back guarantee. Oregon HT250 cordless hedge trimmer Oregon recently launched the HT250 cordless hedge trimmer as part of the expansion of the Oregon 40V MAX Cordless Tool System. The HT250 is powered by the Oregon PowerNow battery platform, a system of premium lithium-ion batteries that are compatible across all Oregon cordless tools, including the CS250 chain saw and the ST250 trimmer/edger. The HT250 features a 24-inch blade with laser-cut precision blades for longer reach and cleaner cutting, resulting in healthier plants. The trimmer's dual-action blades provide smooth cutting action while reducing vibration and noise. The lightweight, ergonomic design has balanced handle placement for comfortable operation and handling. The HT250 has a variable-speed trigger, increasing control and run time. Capable of cutting branches up to 3/4-inch thick, the HT250 delivers up to 60 minutes of trigger time on a single charge with the B400E 2.4 Ah battery pack and 30 minutes with the B500S 1.25 Ah battery pack. When accounting for other aspects of the job, this trigger time can equate to total project times of 1-3 hours. Shindaiwa DH232 and HT232 hedge trimmers The Shindaiwa DH232 and HT232 hedge trimmers offer an all-new lightweight design and are powered by a 21.2-cc, professional-grade, 2-stroke engine. The double-sided model (DH232) is available in 24- or 30-inch blade lengths, and the single-sided model (HT232) is available in 30- or 40-inch lengths. Both models also feature laser-cut and precision-ground blades, a vibration reduction system, and a front exhaust system. The DH232 has a rotating rear handle for a variety of cutting positions. Stihl HSA 65 The Stihl HSA 65 lithium-ion hedge trimmer features a 36-volt lithium-ion battery for strong, quiet cutting performance. It's great because it runs at full power until it is ready for battery recharge, meaning there's no fuel cost, no exhaust emissions and no restrictive power cords. In addition to the fuel savings, the Stihl HSA 65 is four times quieter than its gasoline-powered equivalent, while remaining strong enough for professional use. The lightweight HSA 65 lithium-ion hedge trimmer is ideal for both controlled sculpting and general hedge trimming tasks. TMC's PHT3000V hedge trimmer TMC's PHT3000V is a 32-inch, single-sided hedge trimmer with a 22.5-cc Kawasaki engine and heavy-duty gearbox that combine to generate a dual-reciprocating cutting speed of 40.55 inches per second. Matched forged iron blades stay sharper longer and, with minimal gaps between the top and bottom blades, cut through both fine and coarse materials with ease. Heavy-duty gears, cams and rods efficiently and durably transfer power from the engine to the cutting surface. The looped aluminum handle and trigger-type throttle lever enable the operator to easily maneuver the PHT3000V to virtually any cutting angle. The light weight (12.4 pounds) and even weight distribution reduce fatigue and enable the operator to use the PHT3000V longer and more comfortably. Toro lithium-ion cordless hedge trimmers Toro's 2 new lithium-ion cordless hedge trimmers — models 51494 and 51496 — offer precise trimming, excellent comfort, outstanding durability and efficiency, plus the freedom of cordless technology. The 51494 features a 20V Max lithium-ion battery that has up to twice the power per weight of a less-efficient nickel cadmium battery. Its work grip handle rotates 90 degrees for comfort during vertical cutting. Its 22-inch cutting bar provides extended reach and excellent durability, while the dual-action cutting system reduces vibration and fatigue. Designed to take on branches up to 9/16-inch thick, the 51494 weighs slightly more than 7 pounds. For bigger jobs, the 51496 possesses the same features as the 51494, but increases reach and power with a 24-inch hardened polished steel cutting bar and a 24V Max lithium-ion battery. The 51496 weighs 6 pounds-10 ounces, and it can handle branches up to 5/8-inch thick. www.landscapeirrigation.com Landscape and Irrigation 27
