Product Round-up Hedge Trimmers CORE's CHT-410 hedge trimmer CORE Outdoor Power's products are designed for commercial users in search of a lightweight and costeffective yet powerful alternative to gas-powered products. The CHT-410 hedge trimmer utilizes CORE's Conductor Optimized Rotary Energy (CORE) motor technology combined with intelligent electronic controls and a high-energy power cell to produce high torque at high efficiencies without the need for gas. The proprietary technology works by embedding copper-etched conductors into a multi-layered circuit board stator that is coupled with permanent magnets to optimize the generated power. The CHT-410 is both reliable and lightweight, and, like all of CORE's products, it runs just as long as a tank of gas while eliminating the common maintenance and hassles associated with using gas-powered equipment. With 25-percent more torque than a commercial 25-cc 2-cycle gas trimmer, the CHT-410 has a 22-inch blade, weighs 11 pounds, and runs up to 90 minutes at 3,200 strokes per minute. It features an instant-start trigger, flexible soft-grip handle for all-day comfort, and protective brush guard. Echo HC-165 and HC-185 hedge trimmers The Echo HC-165 and HC-185 hedge trimmers feature 21.2-cc, professional-grade, 2-stroke engines for powerful performance; heavy-duty gear cases for maximum cutting durability; commercial-duty air filtration systems to provide longer engine life; vibration reduction systems to provide operator comfort; and i-30 technology to reduce starting effort by 30 percent. Both units have a 5-position rotating rear handle that puts them into a variety of cutting positions. The HC-165 (24-inch blade) and HC-185 (30-inch blade) both have Echo-exclusive, double-sided, double-reciprocating RazorEdge blades for long-lasting sharpness and enhanced cutting performance. Efco's TG 2750 XP Hedge trimming is made easier by the efco TG 2750 XP. Featuring a 180-degree swivel handle, it can adjust to 5 different positions for more comfortable trimming. The powerful engine makes for easy maintenance on all types of hedges and bushes. The double blade covers large areas with a length of 30 inches. The lightweight, easy-to-use design makes large jobs seem easier to tackle. Husqvarna 327HE4 The Husqvarna 327HE4 is a professional pole hedge trimmer with an articulating cutter bar for greater versatility and less stress on the operator. The machine's maximum reach, including the operator, is approximately 13 feet. The operator's position between the engine and cutter bar makes the machine well balanced and comfortable to use. The 327HE4 is fitted with Husqvarna's E-TECH II engine for more power and better fuel economy. A shoulder harness is included. Little Wonder hedge trimmers Little Wonder offers 8 hedge trimmers, including 6 electric models and 2 gas models. The electric hedge trimmers are available in both single-edge and double-edge models with 19-, 24- or 30-inch cutting blades. They pack enough power to easily cut stubborn growth from shrubs and hedges up to 1/2-inch thick at 2,700 cuts per minute. They feature 2 reciprocating blades, which are made from individually hand-finished high-carbon steel; dual-handle switches; helical-toothed gears; and top and bottom bearings on a heavy-duty, double-insulated motor. The gas models, available in 30- and 40-inch blade lengths, boast a 21.2-cc commercial-grade engine with an electronic ignition and a primer bulb carburetor for quick starts. The gas models also have a lock-out switch; 2-position front handle; thru-hardened, dualreciprocating, hand-finished blades; rubber mounts to reduce vibration; and cutting speed of 2,400 cuts per minute on growth up to 1-inch thick. 26 Landscape and Irrigation May/June 2013 www.landscapeirrigation.com
