Industry Focus Dealership News MAHLE consolidates North American facilities Campbell Freightliner is on track to complete construction of a new location in South Brunswick, N.J. in August, which will culminate the consolidation of two other locations. Forest Park, Ga.-based Peach State Freightliner has added Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America's medium-duty trucks to its dealership offerings. Idealease, Inc. has opened a new location in Kennesaw, Ga. Papé Kenworth in Portland, Ore. suffered a two-alarm fire that caused nearly $1 million in damage in late June. Trans Power has opened a new Kenworth parts location in Tifton, Ga. People In The News Betts Company has hired Bob Herold as vice president of sales. Christopher P. Thorpe has been named Minimizer's chief financial officer. Fontaine Heavy-Haul has named Neil Robertson its director of research and development. Gates Corp. has named Jeff Brekke executive vice president of the company's global aftermarket Thorpe business. The company also named Jack Ramsey senior vice president, North America aftermarket. Herold Bob Phillips, president and CEO at Phillips Industries, recently marked his 50th year in the commercial vehicle industry. Talbert Manufacturing has hired Rick Myers as its director of materials. AFA Industries, Inc. has hired Russell P. Nardi as director of product development. Myers Affinia Group announced Bill Fotino, founder of NAPD, a subsidiary of Affinia Group, retired in June. Dominic Casareale assumed the role of vice president and general manager of the NAPD Chassis after Fotino's retirement. NGVi has added George Arrants to the company's customer solutions team. Nardi Northwood University's Aftermarket Management Chairman Larry Silvey has left the school to launch Larry Silvey Media LLC, an automotive marketing firm. Navistar has parted ways with former CFO Andrew Cederoth. The company has tabbed Walter G. Borst as its new executive vice president and CFO. EcoDual has appointed Mike Donoughe president and CEO. 6 Allison Transmission announces Dean E. Ranalli has been promoted to executive director and chief information officer. T R U C K PA R T S & S E R V I C E | TPS0813PG006-11_Industry Focus.indd 6 The MAHLE Group has relocated the MAHLE Clevite Ann Arbor, Mich. office to Farmington Hills, Mich., where it now joins the corporate MAHLE family. The move consolidates MAHLE North American headquarters central functions, placing marketing, sales, test systems, engineering and all corporate activities onto one campus, the company says. "The decision to consolidate operations onto the Farmington Hills campus creates a synergy among all active functions within the MAHLE family," says Dan Moody, president, MAHLE Clevite. "Having all of our operations centrally located solidifies our commitment in North America and strengthens our daily interactions as a company, allowing us to better serve our customers and continue our growth as a leader in product innovations." Power Heavy Duty expands network Vander Haag Inc., a used truck sales, parts and service company, has joined the Power Heavy Duty network. Founded in 1939 by John C. Vander Haag Sr., the company started primarily as a scrap iron and metal business to support the war effort during World War II. It expanded in 1955 to include new and rebuilt parts as well as repair services, Power Heavy Duty says, and now offers used truck sales, new and used trailer sales, full truck service, truck repair frame fabrication and equipment installation. The company currently has locations in Spencer, Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Sioux Falls, S.D. and just opened its fifth location in Kansas City. Vander Haag has 188 employees.
