truck parking, however, a DOT study
needs to be performed in order to allow
provision of funding for those states that
demonstrate the need for it.
A truck parking survey has been created to collect the needed data. Both
the Jason's Law campaign and Trucking
Social Media are behind the monumental effort to reach as many truckers as
possible, and request their participation
in the survey.
According to the survey website at

"We believe it is those directly affected
by this shortage of safe truck parking,
mainly the drivers and companies, who
should be 'the voices' taking part in this

survey. Participation in this survey is vital to ending the truck parking crisis affecting so many."
The survey is conducted anonymously, and the results will be shared with
the DOT. A presentation of the survey
results will be made on October 12th
at the 2013 Truck Driver Social Media
Convention in Kansas City, MO. ◆
