Fuel Oil Dealers Share Some Lessons They've Learned About Wood Pellets and Equipment that Burns Them

uel oil dealers who diversified into wood pellets and
wood pellet boilers said the technology has advanced,
and their aim is to get the word out to those customers
who seem determined to find an alternative to oil.
C.B Haskell Fuel Co., Windsor, Me., and Vincent's
Heating & Fuel Service in Poland, N.Y., both ventured into
wood pellets and related equipment five or more years ago,
managers at the respective companies said, because some

customers, faced with high prices for fuel oil, were seeking
alternatives.
"They were cutting their fuel oil costs with me by buying
wood pellets from somebody else," said Patrick Vincent of
Vincent's Heating & Fuel. He said he reasoned, "Why not buy
them from me?"
