TRENDS AND TIDBITS continued from page 59 SDLG to Enter North American Market SDLG, a China-based Volvo Construction Equipment brand, announced that it will enter the North American market in the second half of 2013. Initially two models will be available, the 2.4-cubic-yard LG938L and the 4.0-cubicyard LG959. In a news release, SDLG said its lower cost products "attract customers who are looking for machines that are reliable, simple and with a more competitive price point than premium, features-led equipment." SDLG has been a Volvo subsidiary since 2007, and has manufacturing facilities in China, with another plant being built in Brazil. SDLG's complete line includes excavators, backhoes, soil and asphalt compactors and motor graders. "The availability of SDLG machines in North America will provide customers with a new alternative when it comes to purchasing their next wheel loader," says Al Quinn, SDLG's director in North America. "The brand's arrival is great news for customers who want cost-effective machines that are durable and high quality." ● www.sdlg.cn/en/news Trends continued on page 65 EMECO Search for Successor to CEO Keith Gordon, managing director and chief executive officer of Emeco, has decided to leave the company later this year.
