ASSOCIATE PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS 2013 P&MA Annual Convention... one of the Best! A s I write this quarterly article, it has been just a couple of weeks since completing the 2013 P&CMA summer convention. If you were unable to attend, I think you missed out on one of the best conventions in recent years. One of the reasons I thought it was good was due to the P&CMA draw-down. For the first time in many years, all 400 tickets were sold. I want to thank all of you who purchased ticket(s) for the drawing, but I think just as important is all of you who made an effort to sell these tickets. It is a positive sign of things that can happen when we all work together for the benefit of others. This event raised more than $30,000 dollars that will be given away to our youth as scholarships. Another reason I thought the convention was good was the Hall of Fame induction banquet. To be honest with you, I almost dreaded putting on a coat and tie for this event. It did not take long for me to realize how much this association has meant to the members that were inducted. The presentation that Bart put together was professional in every respect. This presentation was inspiring not only because of what these inductees had done in their respective businesses, but also in their communities. This event was the highlight of my convention, and I think it has great potential in the future. It is my hope that you will find a way to participate in your association. As always, please let us know if you have suggestions that can make our association better. I hope to see you in September at the Fall Outing.
