LOGBOOK Thousands of International trucks recalled Navistar last month issued a recall for 16,107 International trucks – model-year 20082013 LoneStar, ProStar and TranStar tractors – because of disoriented air lines at the isolation/vent valve on the electronic fifth wheel jaw release system. The disorientation is due to an assembly error, according to the recall notice, and the improper orientation can – in the event of an air leak at the valve – cause the fifth wheel jaw to release the trailer from the tractor. Navistar says dealers will inspect the air line routing. If a repair is needed, it will be done for free. Truck owners may contact Navistar at 331-3321590; the recall number is 13514. – Overdrive staff THE SUPER SERVICE BUILDING BLOCKS O ST CU S ER M NET TRAILER ORDERS were 15,780 in August, a 24 percent month-to-month increase over July and the best order month since April, according to ACT Research.
