GULF OIL GIVING FOUNDATION'S
NATIONAL SUPPORT OF BREAST
CANCER RESEARCH AND
AWARENESS HITS HOME ON
LONG ISLAND
As part of National Breast Cancer
Awareness Month in October, Gulf
Oil LP, (FRAMINGHAM, MA and
SMITHTOWN, NY) the fastest growing
branded marketer of energy products in
the U.S., brought its national support for
breast cancer research and awareness to
new levels this year. In addition to being a
national partner, Gulf sponsored numerous regional fundraising walks for the
American Cancer Society's "Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer" campaign, including the Making Strides of Jones Beach walk
on Long Island, New York.
Gulf was a "Corporate Champion" of
the October 20th Making Strides event,
with long-time Gulf dealer Benit Fuel, a
family-owned company that has been distributing petroleum products since 1928.
Together, they raised thousands of dollars
and recruited scores of "Team Gulf" walkers
from Gulf stations and dealers throughout
Long Island.
Benit Fuel has represented and distributed Gulf products in the New York metro
area for 40 years.
The Gulf Oil Giving Foundation is raising funds for the American Cancer Society
through Making Strides Against Breast
Cancer walks throughout its 29 state service area.
"We are extremely proud of our involvement in the vital work of breast cancer
research, and to be raising much-needed
funds for the Making Strides campaign that
makes a difference in the lives of millions
of men and women and their loved ones,"
said Rick Dery, senior vice president and
chief sales and marketing officer for Gulf.
"Partnering with the American Cancer
Society and supporting the great work they
do is a cause that we are deeply involved
with, not only financially, but also through
the tireless efforts of our employees and
partners like Benit Fuel who work hard and
care deeply about eradicating this disease."
The Gulf Oil Giving Foundation is a 501
(c) (3) tax-exempt organization which supports Breast Cancer research and awareness
programs.
