Oitker received a $50 cash award and his name on the CARE plaque displayed in the Lan- des lobby. He was recommended for the award after catching a shipper loading error in two trailers. For July, Donald “Gene” Dollar was named Company Driver of the Month. Thomas and Joan Walter were named Company Team of the Month. Jimmy Echols was named Owner- Operator Driver of the Month, and Gary and Nora Bulen were named Owner-Operator Team of the Month. In August, George Cook was Company Driver of the Month, and Jose Gallegos and Homero Pena were named Company Team of the Month. Alan St. Peters was named Owner-Operator of the Month, and Owner-Operator Team of the Month recognitions went to James Fisher and Kathryn Wheeler. For September, Jose Herrera was named Company Driver of the Month, and Roy and Lana Green- well were named Company Team of the Month.
