This new initiative will enable VeriFone’s market leading Ruby SuperSystem and Topaz POS systems, and the Sapphire site controller, to oper- ate seamlessly with Vendgogh’s integrat- ed gas island vending solution. Together they will enable convenience store retail- ers to extend additional services to their gas island customers while driving incre- mental sales of cold drinks, increasing customer loyalty and growing their over- all store revenue and profit. The initial release of this integrated offering is planned for the summer of 2011. Research has shown that 70 percent or more of convenience store cus- tomers buy only gas.Convenience store owners continually look for new and innovative ways to draw customers into the store. The VeriFone-Vendgogh inte- gration is designed to help retailers focus more on the gas customer, their specific buying preferences and their overall buying experience.  New president of Champion Laboratories Champion Laboratories, Inc., (Albion, Ill.) a UCI International company and a worldwide leader in filters and filtra- tion products, announced the appoint- ment of Wolfgang Winzer to the posi- tion of president. In this role, Winzer will be responsible for worldwide growth of leading filtration products from Champion Laboratories— including well-known brand names such as Champ®, PetroClear®, Kleener® and Luber-finer®. Winzer joins Champion Laboratories after serving for the past two years as president of Webb Wheel Products, Inc., Cullman, Ala. – a leading manufacturer of wheel- end solutions for the heavy-duty truck and trailer market. As the head ofWebb Wheel Products,Winzer was responsible for four business units with five manufacturing facilities for OEM, aftermarket, transit and brake 8 JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2011 parts, as well as being accountable for Webb’s research-and-develop- ment facility. Winzer’s career has included posi- tions with Siemens VDO Automotive Corp.-North America, where he served as vice president and general manager for both the Aftermarket and Specialty OEM Business Units. Prior to moving to the United States, he served in various executive assign- ments for VDO in Germany.  New district sales managers at OPW OPW Fueling Components, a global leader in fueling innovation, has announced new sales managers for the Southeast, Northeast, and Southwest. Jay Mutina has been appointed southeast district sales manager. Jay will assume sales responsibility for Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, replacing Parrish Evans who was promoted to Eastern Regional Sales Manager in 2010. Mutina has more than 25 years experi- ence in the petroleum equipment industry and has served as OPW southwest district sales manager for the past ten years. Mutina will be replaced by Josh Vander Hey. Vander Hey will be responsible for existing sales and new business activities as well as relation- ship management with distributors, marketer customers and regulatory agencies in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Jeffrey Steel Joins OPW as northeast district sales manager replacing David Gillispie who will be retiring Jan. 14, 2011 after 23 years of service to OPW. Steel will be responsible for existing sales and new business activities as well as relationship management with dis- tributors, marketer customers and reg- ulatory agencies in New York City & Long Island, Northern New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Prior to joining OPW, Jeffrey served as strategic account man- ager at Crompco LLC, Plymouth Meeting, Penn.  Tidel announces expansion Tidel Revolution LLC (Carrollton, Tx.), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tidel Engineering, L.P., the world leader in Retail Cash Management Systems and Loss Prevention prod- ucts, announced that it is expanding its manufacturing facility to accom- modate increased production demand of the Revolution®, Tidel’s state-of-the art, back room cash man- agement system. In making its decision to execute a lease modification and expansion, Tidel anticipates it will be better pre- pared to serve the needs of its growing list of Revolution customers, both in the United States and internationally.  SPIRIT® meeting holds annual The Management Committee of the Petroleum Marketers Oil Company, LLC and the Spirit® Petroleum brand held its 8th annual meeting Jan. 18–19, 2011 in Dallas, TX. The meeting presented the opportunity for committee members and invited participants to note the company’s accomplishments in 2010, and to strategize for the coming year.
