Tim Martin has been promoted to chief operations officer. Martin will be responsible for worldwide operations, which include manufacturing, distribution, sourcing, infor- mation systems, e-commerce and data man- agement. In order to facilitate this expanded role, he will no longer be directly responsible for the sales department or sales activities, although, he will continue to help direct company sales strategy and execution. Mar- tin has been with the company for 17 years and formerly led sales, customer service and information systems. The company will begin a national search for a vice president of sales who will be responsible for the entire global sales organization. In the interim, the sales department will be managed by Steven Rog- ers, K&N's president and CEO. Steve Williams will assume the role of chief engineering officer. He will be respon- sible for worldwide product engineering, warranty services, product and materials research, testing, quality control, regulatory compliance, OEM relations and private label customer relations. Williams has been with K&N for 17 years and was formerly responsi- ble for product development, manufacturing and distribution. Douglas Hood will be joining the com- pany in the role of chief financial officer. He has more than 25 years of financial experience working with consumer product compa- nies and will be responsible for all financial, accounting and tax matters and have a key role in the operational management of the company. Additionally, he will handle all banking and financial relations, M&A oppor- tunities, legal affairs, risk management, finan- cial analysis and strategic initiatives. Hood brings a wealth of experience to the team hav- ing formerly served as chief financial officer for Spyder Active Sports, Inc., and senior vice president of corporate development for Motorsport Aftermarket Group, Inc. He began his career with Price Waterhouse. DIGEST throughout the country. "I think that we're going to be able to make this work, and I believe that when the word goes out that … Wild West is going to offer this to a select few shops around the country, I don't think we're going to have a problem getting it hooked up," Winn said. He recently turned to an industry LinkedIn group to announce Wild West's licensing plan, and has already received interest from more than a dozen builders, two of which are inter- national. Two dealers on the East Coast have also expressed great interest to be among the first to sign licensee agreements. For Wild West, this opportunity simply rep- resents another way to help its company grow and succeed. "We've literally won thousands of custom shows. We've had lots of different write-ups about the bikes. We've been on the History Channel. We've done biker build offs. We've been through the gamut, and we're still alive," Winn said. "That's the important thing because there's too many that are not."
