Most people will look back on their lives and see [birth] as a significant event," says Wolf. "The real truth in these images is that you only meet your baby once." Considering that, says McGovern, helped her realize: "Why wouldn't I want that [recorded]?" McGovern doesn't remember the camera even being there, but now, seeing these very mo- ments—her husband's tender support, relieved accomplishment on her face after delivery, dad's expression at first baby sight, the very moment they all became a family, her newborn's bright- eyed awareness—she is transported back to the emotion of each moment. There's another aspect, too, says Wolf, "Moms can look back and say, 'Wow, I was so strong,' and to be able to see that can be a really powerful experience."
