J. C. Wimberly came into the trucking world not as an alternative career but as his life's goal. According to Wimberly, "I never wanted to do anything else with my life but drive a truck. My whole family has been a part of this important part of America's system of commerce since as far back as I can remember. My dad drove a truck, and my uncle worked for Mack Trucks. My little brother works there now, as have others in the family. I grew up in Allentown, home of Mack, and trucking was not just part of our life. It was an industry around which my family revolved." After high school, Wimberly joined the US Air Force – not to fly, but specifically to drive trucks. "I loved it. It was what I wanted to do and not many young people get that chance so early in life." After leaving the Air Force with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 2006, he signed on with a major interstate carrier and has continued his career with Transco Lines. Based in Russellville, Arkansas, Transco Lines has a 30 year history in successful over-the-road that prides itself in just in time delivery service. "I love this job. I have a great truck, delivering parts and supplies to many great customers including truck manufacturers and really enjoy what I am doing with my life. How many people can say that these days?" • J.C. Wimberly: Loving Life At Transco Lines 855-278-5645 www.transcolines.com transco edit 0414.indd 1 3/6/14 10:45 AM
