Team drivers Scott and Kathi Alberg have figured out the perfect system for working together and being successful on the road. The husband and wife duo, who drive for Transport America, ensure that their truck is always moving by maximizing the time they each have behind the wheel and sticking to their schedule. "We're each legally allowed to drive 11 hours a day and work 14, so we make sure we use every second of that time productively," explains Kathi Alberg. "We've worked it out that Scott drives at night and I drive during the day. This way, we don't interrupt our sleeping patterns. Transport America has allowed us to continue driving this way with the loads they give us." Since the Albergs are working together as a married couple, some of the necessary components of being a successful team come naturally to them. Scott Alberg says it's important for teams to share the same goal so that they can work together to achieve whatever they set out to accomplish. "Our goal is to move freight, so that's what we do with Transport America's help," adds Kathi Alberg. "We've both been around this industry long enough to know that Transport America is unique in making sure we get all the miles we want and helping us do our job putting safety first." The couple, who lives in Lodi, Calif., says Transport America has exceeded their expectations over the last year since they started driving for the company. Transport America is well-known in the industry for it's unmistakable ability to follow through on its promises to drivers. The company also offers drivers state-of-the-art equipment, excellent pay, benefits and a steady customer base. "We at Transport America strive to be that company that puts safety above all else," says Betsy Waldrop, Transport America director of recruiting. "At the end of the day, we want our drivers to be successful. That means that it's important we get the right kind of freight and customers that will give our drivers miles and keep them safe." The Albergs can't say enough about working with Transport America. Kathi Alberg remembers a time where they had to stop in at the company's terminal in Ohio to get their truck serviced. Her son, who's in the military, happened to be in the area and joined them for lunch. The Albergs later learned that their lunch bill had been paid by the service manager because he knew that Kathi Alberg had not seen her son in a long time. "Transport America goes above and beyond for its drivers. They back up what they say, they're honest and they treat us with respect," adds Scott Alberg. "If you want to drive a truck and deliver freight, Transport America is the place to be." Since 1984, Transport America has been a leader in the transportation industry offering outstanding careers and excellent service. The company is committed to staying as one of the most successful providers of the highest quality in transportation and logistic services in North America. Transport America provides a work environment for drivers that exceed their needs and those of their family.
