FIRST CLASS 19 for Peterbilt LNG Trucks Peterbilt News products, will become the leading envi- ronmentally clean transporter of the Bulk Food Grade market. Both the Peterbilt clean fuel Model 386 and the Model 367 are powered by the Westport HD system, which consists of the GX 15-litre engine, proprietary Westport fuel injectors, LNG fuel tanks with integrated cryogenic fuel pumps, and associated electronic components to facilitate robust performance and reliable operation. The Westport HD GX engine is certified and compliant to 2010 U.S. En- vironmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission limits in North America. Peterbilt also offers compliant com- pressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) power platforms in the Models 320, 365 and 384, which are equipped with the Cummins Westport ISL-G engine. Peterbilt Expands LNG Platforms Peterbilt has announced the expansion of liquefied natural gas (LNG) platforms, meeting customer requirements for lowering operat- ing costs while maintaining excel- lent performance. As the leading manufacturer of alternative fuel system vehicles, Peterbilt offers the Models 367 LNG and 386 LNG with the Westport HD engine, providing equal horsepower, torque, and effi- ciency to a diesel-fueled engine. "As diesel prices continue to rise, customers are look- ing for alternative fuel options without impacting per- formance or service," says Bill Jack- son, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. "Peterbilt's Models 367 LNG and 386 LNG with the Westport GX engine provide this alternative, with an added bonus of reduced greenhouse gas emissions." Powered by the Westport GX en- gine, Peterbilt's Models 386 LNG and 367 LNG offer up to 475 horsepower and 1,750 ft-lbs of torque. "Peterbilt's design focus is to pro- vide a wide profile of high perform- ing, fuel efficient products for our customers," says Landon Sproull, Peterbilt chief engineer. "Natural gas power systems complement our other products such as lightweight aerody- namic conventionals, medium-duty hybrid electrics, and idle reduction systems, all of which exceed customer expectations and requirements."
