PRODUCTS BURIED CANE is the newest brand of wines from Middleton Family Wines in Washington State. Th e name comes from a practice used to protect grape vines from harsh winter temperatures, when low-growing vine canes are buried under the soil then unearthed when the freeze passes. Th e company has released a 2008 Heartwood Red (which is syrah based), 2009 chardonnay, 2009 riesling and 2008 cabernet sauvignon. Th e wines range in retail price from $12 to $25. Th e beer is based on English summer ales, with a gold color and fruity, fl oral and herbal aromas from Glacier hops, according to the company. Th e summer ale joins the company’s Kiwanda Cream Ale, which is available year-round. Th e new seasonal off ering is available for a suggested retail price of $5.50 for a 22-ounce bottle. Th e new fl avor has a suggested retail price of $13.99 for a 750-ml. bottle. Th e daiquiri is part of Bacardi’s Classic Cocktail line and mixes Bacardi rum, lime juice and sugar. Th e 2010 Moscato off ers citrus, orange blossom and fl oral aromas with honey, nectarine and tropical fruit, according to the company. Th e Moscato joins the fi ve other Twisted varietals: pinot grigio, chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel. It’s made from natural ingredients and undergoes the same infusion process as the company’s other 34 fl avors, a distillation method that’s been in place since 1575. Th e concentrated fl avor in the liqueur makes it easily mixable with rum, tequila, Bourbon and gin, according to the company. Th e new fl avor is available for a suggested retail price of $12 for a 1-liter bottle. Lightning Lemonade recalls a southern favorite, Roadhouse Tea is non-carbonated and inspired by the company’s Sweet Tea vodka and Spiked Cola has a hint of Bourbon fl avor, according to the company. All three are 5.8 percent ABV. Th e fl avored malts are available for a suggested retail price of $2.49 to $2.79 for a 23.5-ounce and $7.99 for a 12-ounce six-pack.
