the Neighborhood Applebee’s isn’t just using its
Facebook page to promote new menu items and off er discounts to fans. Th e chain recently announced its “Girl’s Night Out” customized invitation that guests can access through its fan page. Customers can send an invitation to friends asking them to meet at a local Applebee’s for a girl’s night out and track the events they’re attending and hosting. While they’re at Applebee’s for a
girl’s night out, the company hopes they’ll try one of the six entrees from its under-550 calorie menu or one of the chain’s SkinnyBee cocktails. As an added promotion, Applebee’s is also holding a photo contest for its Facebook fans, asking them to upload pictures from their girl’s night out and rewarding the top three vote-getters each week with a $50 gift card.

No matter what era you prefer, the
InterContinental New York’s Barclay Bar has a decade for you. The bar recently announced its Decades Cocktail Hour, which embraces a different era each week night with decade-specifi c music, videos and $8 featured cocktails. Five video installations play archival footage from each time in history, accompanied by custom playlists from each decade’s classic hits. The weekly schedule is: Mondays: 1920s and 1930s with the Sidecar and French 75; Tuesdays: 1940s and 1950s with the Bellini and Harvey Wallbanger; Wednesdays: 1960s with the Vodka Martini; Thursdays: 1970s with Caiparinhas; Fridays: 1980s and 1990s with the Tequila Sunrise and Cosmopolitans.
