SECURITY SYSTEMS NEWS JULY 2011 www.securitysystemsnews.com MONITORING 35 Mudrak is new ADS central station manager By Daniel Gelinas NASHVILLE, Tenn.—ADS Security in May announced it had promoted former central station quality-control supervisor Christine Mudrak to central station manager. Mudrak will be responsible for hiring, scheduling and training all central station employees, as well as overseeing the education of new ADS employees on standard operating procedures. She will continue to supervise quality control and act as liaison between the ADS central SPAGNOLO Continued from page 33 product development as the company researches new technology, according to the release. May will maintain his equity interest in Iverify and will also serve on the company’s board of direc- tors. “The security industry is evolving from some of the older business mod- els—guards, burglar alarms, etc.—to a knowledge-based model where the security providers leverage technol- ogy and information systems to drive improved security performance and results at much lower costs,” May said. “To that end I am working with a team of people from the security industry and academia that have a cross sec- tion of disciplines to create what we believe is the next generation of a security model.” May also said he expected he and his development team to purchase a security company to revamp into his new model some time in the near future. SSN MOBILE Continued from page 33 with CRN’s mission. “We’ve gotten away from the commu- nity feel. Whether it’s through technology or not, we need to be communicating. When I was a kid, if I did something across town, my parents knew about it before I got home. We’ve sort of lost that sense of everybody watching out for each others kids,” Griesemer said. “I really think this could be the program to reestablish that sense of community.” Security Systems News looked at Mobi- leTREC and other NG911 and mobile security technology providers recently and examined the trend toward mobile security. The virtual neighborhood watch concept is beta testing here, using MobileTREC’s own SafeKidZone call center, but Lobb said the initiative will need central station backing in order to reach the widest possible audience. “Think about Katrina and the flooding, think about Japan and the tsunami. These crises are happening now. The sooner we get this virtual neighborhood built, the sooner we can start protecting people,” Lobb said. “We’ve received some inter- est from a number of alarm monitoring companies, and we’ll enter into talks with them as they come forward … We want to open up virtual neighborhoods all over the country … We’ll need monitor- ing companies nationwide to reach out to their customers and help us establish this virtual safety network.” SSN WSC thanks everyone who supported our launch at ISC West 2011. She is a member of the False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA), the Security Network of America (SNA), and the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA). In 2006, Mudrak was the first recipi- ent of the CSAA Operator of the Year award, according to ADS. Lela Mullins, SVP of monitoring opera- tions for ADS, has worked with Mudrak for19 years. “Christine displays an amazing positive attitude, which resounds throughout the [organization], especially during difficult times as in the tremendous weather we have experienced this spring,” Mullins said. ADS Security was established in Nash- ville in 1990 and currently serves over 70,000 businesses, industrial facilities and residences throughout the southeastern U.S., according to the company. ADS is a UL-listed, CSAA Five Diamond-certified central station. SSN WSC thanks everyone who supported our launch at ISC West 2011.
