43rd Cycling Classic includes new races in Cudahy, Bay View THE 43RD INTERNATIONAL Cycling Classic and Superweek Pro Series pedals into Wisconsin July 13 for 11 races, including two new venues. The longest-running, multi-day cycling competi- tion in the U.S., the Classic includes both criteri- ums (short courses) and road races. Competitors come here from throughout the U.S. and Europe, Asia and Latin America. Racing begins July 8 with five races in Chicago and Northern Illinois. In Wisconsin, 11 races are scheduled, most in the Milwaukee area: • July 13: Lake Geneva Criterium • July 14: South Shore Classic Criterium in Cudahy, a new event. • July 15: Brookfield/Maximized Living Criterium. • July 16: The Otto Wenz Jr./Great Downer Avenue Race, one of the oldest bike races in the country on Milwaukee’s East Side. • July 18: Wheel & Sprocket/Whitnall Park Road Race in Hales Corners. • July 19: Whitnall Park Criterium. • July 20: Bay View Rumble in Humboldt Park on Milwaukee’s South Side. . • July 21: Brewer’s Hill Criterium on N. 2nd and and Palmer Sts. and Brown and Vine Sts. just north of downtown Milwaukee. • July 22: Chase Food Folks and Spokes Criterium around Library Park in Kenosha. • July 23: Bay View Classic Criterium, another new race which includes Bay View’s main thoroughfare, S.
