ConneCtiCut new Connecticut Diesel excise tax Rate CEMA reminds those selling diesel in the state that the new Connecticut diesel excise tax rate went into effect on July 1. The rate changed to 54.5 cents per gallon and is slated to remain in effect through June 30, 2015. The Department of Revenue Services issued formal guidance on the new Connecticut diesel excise tax rate. This change applies to all taxable diesel and kerosene. It is a slight decrease from the 54.9 cpg rate that was in effect from July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014. The state diesel/kerosene tax is adjusted every year on July 1 by state statute. The federal diesel excise tax of 24.4 cents and the state excise tax on gasoline of 25 cents remain unchanged. new HampsHiRe oHCnH to Hold meeting with n.H. senator on industry issues The members of the Oil Heat Council o f N e w H a m p s h i r e a r e i n v i t e d to join the members of the New Hampshire Motor Transport Association at a meeting on August 20, 2014, from 10-11 a.m. at the Association/Council building in Concord, N.H. STATE BY STATE N e w s 10 august 2014 | FueL oiL news | www.fueloilnews.com neFi sulfur & Bioheat Requirements for Heating oil in the northeast & mid-atlantic states As CEMA recently pointed out in a news- letter item to its members, Vermont and Connecticut are under new rules for heating oil as of July 1. The new rules limit sulfur to 500 parts per million, down from 20,000 PPM in Vermont and 3,000 PPM in Connecticut. Both states will further slash sulfur content to just 15 PPM in 2018. The New England Fuel Institute has developed this excellent listing of sulfur and bioheat requirements throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.
