As health care providers, our work is most often performed in the service of others. This is an honor and a great responsibility. I believe we have a responsibility as the Springfield area's only local not-for-profit hospital system and a leading employer to do more than just provide health care. Our workforce is 10,000 strong. They are caregivers dedicated to caring. People who work at CoxHealth are passionate about their jobs, and passionate about serving others in ways beyond health care. We were excited to support a recent community improvement effort in Rockaway Beach. Our employees worked side by side with other community members to clean, paint and rejuvenate that community. CoxHealth recently held a community diaper drive that collected more than 15,000 diapers for several area agencies that serve women and children in need. Our employees donated 10,000 of those diapers. A food drive is planned for later this year to support our local food pantries. Last year more than 4,000 pounds of healthy food were collected by CoxHealth employees. In the last three years, our employees have been involved in an estimated 100 community service projects. We are proud to be a workplace that fosters and supports that kind of commitment to the people and communities we serve. Thank you to our employees for leading the way in making a difference for our community, through caring hearts and caring hands.
