EQUIPMENT FOCUS Right-of-Way Equipment Forestry mowers from Bandit Industries Bandit forestry mowers boast durable construc- tion, reliable operation, feature-rich cabins, and class-leading capability. All mowers ride on Caterpillar undercar- riages with Bandit-designed mower heads, and offer available stump grinder attachments. The Model 3500 is a cost-effective-yet-capable machine with a 74- inch-wide mower and engine options to 250 horsepower. The mid-pack Model 4000 wields an 84-inch mower with an available 440 horsepower. The Model 5000 is ideal for the toughest land-clearing and right-of-way operations, using a 108-inch mower with engine options between 500 and 600 horsepower. EQUIPMENT FOCUS Brown Bear BC283 and BC285.5 brush and tree shredders Brown Bear Corporation offers its BC283 and BC285.5 brush and tree shredders as attach- ments for skid-steer loaders with high-flow auxiliary hydraulics. Available with flail rotor with free-swinging cutters or fixed carbide-tooth rotor, these brush and tree shredders will handle up to 6- to 8-inch hard woods and up to 10- to 12-inch soft woods. Brown Bear brush and tree shredders are perfect for clearing next to fence lines, pastures and pipeline/utility rights of way. Canycom CG431 brush cutter The Canycom CG431 ride-on flail-type brush cutter features heavy-duty rubber tracks and a low center of gravity for exceptional performance on steep slopes (up to 35 degrees) and rough terrain. This machine boasts a 44-hp. Kubota diesel engine, 2-range hydrostatic transmission, a self-leveling operator’s platform, side-shifting cutter head, and a reversible self-cleaning cooling fan. FAE excavator mulching heads FAE offers a complete line of excavator mulching heads to fit the needs of the right-of-way maintenance contractor. FAE manufactures both flail and fixed- teeth designs for a range of excavators from 1.5 tons up to 40 tons. These heads are designed to be used on existing excavator hydraulics with no need for any auxiliary power packs. The FAE heads are rated to cut from brush material up to 20-inch-diameter (depending on the model) to fit your specific needs. FAE also provides a 2-year warranty at no additional charge. Fecon RTC22/500-8 Fecon offers the RTC22/500-8 as a turnkey mobile chipping package, mounted on a TimberPro 830B forwarder. It is highly productive in land clearing, biomass, pipeline and right-of-way applications. The Fecon RTC22/500-8 more than triples speeds of typical track chippers. Production speed is further enhanced by both loader reach and lifting capacity. It sets new standards with 12,880-pound capability at 15 feet, up to 31.5 feet of total reach, and 360-degree rotation.
