Howald joins Pear Bureau as regional manager D ave Howald has joined the Pear Bureau Northwest as regional mar- keting manager for the Western United States. For the past 22 years, he was retail marketing director for the California Avocado Commission. Howald, who lives in El Dorado Hills, California, studied public rela- tions at California State University, Long Beach. He has been a director of the Fresh Produce and Floral Council and the Buy California Marketing Agreement. He was a fellow in the United Fresh Produce Association's leadership program in 2004. Stemilt names new sales, planning directors S temilt Growers in Wenatchee, Wash- ington, has promoted Tate Mathison to sales director and Dennis Howell to planning director. Mathison grew up doing various jobs in his family's orchards at Stemilt Hill and joined Stemilt's sales department in 2007. He has worked for the past seven years in domestic sales and most recently was sales team leader for national accounts. Before joining Stemilt, he worked for Dole Food Company in Los Angeles, California, first as a technical service representative and later as tropical sales manager. He has a degree in business administration from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. Howell, who is from Arkansas, joined Stemilt in 1997 as a technician in the com- pany's research and development department. He has since worked as Stemilt's quality control manager, director of qual- ity control, sales analyst, and, most recently, as sales and business plan- ning team leader.
