RedMax HEZ3001S RedMax edgers are lightweight and efficient, yet tough enough to handle nearly any terrain. Advanced features include Max- Torque cutting to prevent stalling; an open-face, clog-resistant, die-cast aluminum guard; vibration dampening for user com- fort; and extremely dependable component parts. Even the trigger is nearly unbreakable, designed and constructed to withstand even the most vigorous, extended wear and tear. RedMax straight-shaft edgers deliver excellent transfer of power and are used in very difficult soil or clay. The curved-shaft edgers are used primarily in loose or soft soil areas where less power is needed. The 29.4-cc HEZ3001S edger (pictured) boasts the Strato-Charged engine, which produces more horse- power (1.4) with reduced emissions and up to 20-percent more fuel efficiency. RedMax Shindaiwa LE254 edger with Hybrid 4 engine technology Shindaiwa's LE254 edger boasts Hybrid 4 engine technology. Hybrid 4 offers the best characteristics of both 2-stroke and 4- stroke engine technology, including lower emissions, more torque to the lower end, better fuel consumption, and a low tone sound. The LE254 features a 24.5-cc engine, an ergonomically designed left handle for reduced operator fatigue and natural hand positions, an anti-vibration system for long-duration cutting without fatigue, a purge-pump carburetor and electronic igni- tion system for fast and easy starts, a well-balanced design to reduce operator fatigue, and a 7.75-inch Cyclone edger blade. Shindaiwa Steiner 430 Max tractor with trencher attachment The Steiner 430 Max 4-wheel-drive articulating tractor is available with more than 20 Quick-Hitch attachments, including a trencher. The 360-pound trencher measures 5 feet-4 inches long, 37 inches wide and 34 inches tall with a 12-inch-wide auger and 1.5-inch-wide drive shaft. Depth of cut is adjustable up to 28 inches with the depth indicator gauge easily visible, and the cutting width is 4.75 inches. Chain speed is 550 feet per minute. The Steiner 430 Max also features a hydrostatic transmission, power steering, air- or liquid-cooled engine options ranging from 21 to 33 hp., and an ergonomically designed deluxe seat. Steiner/Schiller Grounds Care, Inc. Stihl FC 90 edger The Stihl FC 90 is a professional curved-shaft edger powered by a 28.4-cc proven low-emission engine. Its heavy-duty re- placeable skid plate protects the gearbox from wear, while its adjustable depth wheel allows the depth of cut to be varied for a wide range of applications, resulting in a finished, professionally manicured look. A 3.8-mm-thick, heavy-duty edger guide is an optional accessory. Stihl Inc. Toro TRX-16 and TRX-20 walk-behind trenchers Toro has upgraded its compact equipment line with the new 16-hp. TRX-16 and 20-hp. TRX-20 walk-behind trenchers, replac- ing the TRX-15 and TRX-19 models. Along with the Toro TRX-26 model, these gas-powered machines make trenching easier with a tracked design and operator-friendly controls. The 16- and 20-hp. TRX models are equipped with powerful 4-cycle Kawasaki twin-cylinder engines with a large oil reservoir to help maintain low engine temperature and prolong engine life. De- livering 10 gpm of hydraulic flow at 2,900 psi to the boom helps maximize digging efficiency. Each unit is also equipped with a standard hydraulic oil cooler that provides a cooler-running machine in the most demanding conditions. The Toro Co. Turf Teq's 1305 power edger Turf Teq offers a complete line of self-propelled walking-forward power edgers, including the model 1305 bed opener. With a 13-hp. Honda engine and a 5-inch cutting depth, this machine comes standard with a bed-opening blade to create new land- scaping beds or redefine existing beds. A variety of optional trenching blades are also available. All 3 of these functions — bed opening, bed grooming and trenching — can be performed by simply changing the blade and guard for each application. The 1305 features a fully hydrostatic transmission with forward and reverse. The model 1305SP has the capability to be converted to a power broom, power rake, brush cutter or plow.
