CONTRIBUTORS Based in San Francisco, Jaime Gross is a senior editor at Dwell magazine and writes frequently about design, cul- ture and travel—and the places they overlap—for the New York Times, T and Travel + Leisure where she is the mag- azine's San Francisco corre- spondent. "What I covet changes almost constantly—it's a side effect of working for a design publication and seeing beautiful new things all of the time. These days I'm craving a Rest sofa by the Scandinavian com- pany Muuto, designed by Anderssen & Volt. It's chubby, generously stuffed and very com- fortable, while still look- ing refined and tailored." Alexandra Szucs Cunningham is the Director of Exhibitions for Design Miami/. In addition to overseeing the Gallery and Design On/Site pro- grams, she organizes the fair's archi- tectural commissions, cultural programming and acts as a liaison between the fair and international cultural and academic institutions, cultivating collaborative exhibitions, museum conferences and events. A native of Miami, Cunningham serves on the board of The University of Wynwood, a nonprofit organization that supports literary culture in Miami. "I'm currently in love with ce- ramist Valentine Schlegel's voluptuous fireplaces from the 1960s and 70s. I would happily spend each and every winter reading in front of one." Brent Dzekciorius joined Phillips de Pury and Company in 2010. As the worldwide director of retail operations, Dzekciorius champions emerging and established designers through a store- front at Phillips de Pury's Park Avenue Flagship, pop-up platforms in London's Saatchi Gallery and at the company's new Mayfair gallery at Claridge's, which this month features works by Max Lamb, Martino Gamper, Oeuffice, Brunno Jahara, Snarkitecture and Do- minic Wilcox. Dzekciorius also stages major monographic exhibitions, notably of the Japanese design studio Nendo and of British designer Faye Toogood. "I can't stop thinking about Di- eter Rams's Braun-SK-61. This to me is the original iPod—a fully integrated music device that is honest and understandable. The turntable platform could be con- sidered the visual basis for the design of first iPod." Rachel Wolff is a Brooklyn- based art writer and critic. Her work has appeared in New York magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Departures, Town & Country, Condé Nast Traveler, Bloomberg Business- Week, ARTnews, Modern Painters, Art + Auction, and The Daily Beast. Rachel originally hails from Chicago. When she's not writing or looking at art, she's cooking, eating or talking about food. "I would love love love to own one of Jeff Zimmer- man's crumpled glass vases (see page 96). Hav- ing seen him make the work in his Brooklyn glass-blowing studio, I feel a sort of personal connection to these fleet- ing moments frozen in time. I would, however, have to build some kind of protective pedestal in my apartment in order to exhibit it—I wouldn't want anyone getting near the thing!" 20 CULTURED JAIME GROSS PHOTO BY ZACH GROSS
