22 STiR tea & coffee industry international Taylors Honors Chamong Tee Chamong Tee Exports, Indian producer and exporter of organic Assam and Darjeeling teas, has been awarded 'Tea Supplier of the Year' by UK tea and coffee company Taylors of Harrogate. Ajay Kichlu, director marketing of Chamong, visited Harrogate for the award ceremony and said he was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the company. Ian Brabbin, head of tea buying at Taylors said, "There is genuine warmth in the relationship. Ajay is like a friend to us and the service Chamong gives us is exceptional and they consistently go over and above our expectations." Chamong Tee Exports Pvt. Ltd. is owned by the Lothias family and Ashok Lothia, current chairman. Taiwan TeaMasters™ Brewer Taiwanese Tea Master Jason Chen recently launched a new brewing device for making a big mug of tea. Chen spent three years designing a vessel for rinsing, brewing and rebrewing oolong teas. Learn more: www.luyutea.com UK Mike Bunston, OBE Mike Bunston, past chairman of London tea brokers Wilson Smithett and until recently, chairman of the International Tea Committee, has been honored with an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by the Queen for 'services to the International Tea Industry'. "I am absolutely delighted and not a little surprised. It was all handled by my chums at ITC and the first I knew of it was when I received a letter in late November from the Foreign & Com- monwealth Office. It is a great honor and I feel is in some way for the whole trade."
