The TropicalDome containsmore than 450 species of plants, replicating the diversity that is found in many tropical regions. Several species of small birds have been introduced into this dome,which also features fish in a small lagoon. The third dome is the ShowDomewhere five themed, seasonal displays aremounted every year. The ShowDome also is the site for popular "Music UnderGlass" concerts showcasing top local bands every Thursday fromNovember throughMarch (See page 29 for concert details). The domes also are open in the evening for events likeNewYear's Eve and can be rented for corporate parties,weddings and other special events. In the past year an estimated 250,000 visitors came to the domes, includingmore than 20,000 in school groups. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m.Mon., Tues.,Wed. and Fri.; 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Thurs.when "Music UnderGlass" begins at 6:30, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat. and Sun.
